Improving the Force and Time Response of a DC Solenoid Electromagnetic Actuator by Changing the Lower Core Angle

The aim of almost any electromagnetic actuator development is to increase the force with which an acts on a plunger as fast time response possible while maintaining dimensions small possible. This paper presents research impact lower core angle and DC solenoid actuator. method based analytical analysis magnetic path comparison numerical simulation results. A transient was performed 2D axial-symmetric model included simultaneously solving time-dependent partial differential equations actuator’s magnetic, electrical, mechanical subsystems. subsystem analyzed by finite element (FEM) using ANSYS Electronics software package. three prototype models different angles were produced tested in accredited Laboratory Center KONČAR Electrical Engineering Institute. obtained measurements are compared results
